Re: what mic would you use?
Hey A.L., what would you recommend I use the 103 on? My landlord just borrowed it to me(I actually don't own any mics, just been using some basic ones that my roomates have), and I'm going through that love it because it's worth more(alot more) than anything I own(and it's a Neumann) stage. So I've ...

Re: what mic would you use?
I've been using a Neumann TLM 103 lately and I love it. It sounds great on acoustic guitar too. It's really my only decent mic though, so I don't have much to compare it to(some57's, 58, and some low end sennheisers). If you don't want that scratchy sound when you slide your fingers, try soaking you...

Re: Listening collegiately
Nope. I Don't have any of them. I had Sparta's first disc and thought it kinda sucked. I wouldn't mind hearing PJ Harvey, the Cure, and Mike Watt though.

Re: MTV VMAs
Yeah, this is the worst music awards show I've ever seen. They called Hoobastank rock? I've seen my Grandma rock her casio harder than that bullshit.
I don't get it either auralman, do people really like this crap?

Re: From our demo
Wow! You guys kick ass! All this major label shit infesting the airwaves, and here you guys are rockin' your balls off and playing music for all the right reasons. I think the drums sound great. What I really like is that you sound like you're having fun; aka - not your typical, generic, overproduce...

Re: Wow, I have a problem.
This is kinda off topic, but I was just checking out your band link, and is your drummer really named Dave Lombardo? Isn't that the Slayer/Fantomas drummer? Kick ass. That dude's the shit! Anyway, I wish I had your "problem." I try to squeeze in about an hour of playing a day, but damn does trying t...

Re: new bands to listen to
Greatest album of all time(but not too new, 89 actually): Primus - Frizzle Fry Or for a newer take on the same band, try Antipop. As far as newer stuff goes, have you heard the Secret Cheifs 3? Crazy ass instrumentals that span from classical to metal to techno, all with an Eastern influence and cho...

Re: What Did You Work On Today? 8-21-04
Slept away my hangover. Then wrote a song on my three string bass(since I'm too broke to afford new stings and broke one earlier this week). Who needs the D string anyway? Waiting for my roomates band to get here to record a new song they've been working on. Then maybe maybe get drunk and record my ...

Re: Help! My monitor's dying
Wow, I was just about to give up and throw it in the trash, when I thought of Maz's post. I rehooked it up, after about a week's rest, and tried firing it up one last time. Holy crap! It worked. Now I just gotta give it back to my friend and hope it works for him. Thanks Maz, I was almost out a moni...

Hey, thanks guys. The monitor is well over 3 years old, and I'm pretty sure I'm screwed. Oh, well, ya can't win em' all.

Help! My monitor's dying
I was working on a project the other day(luckily nothing to important, just recording some drums for my buddy's application to MI) and my monitor died. It was working fine, and then I took a break for about an hour and came back and the screen was black. It was still on(the light was green as oppose...
