Yeah, my sister bought one for her church and right out of the box, it was broke. Totally un-usable. Yeah, but that could apply to ANY mixer from ANY company--anything can break in shipping or in the warehouse before it's shipped out--even Mackie, even Allen and Heath (I know this one from experien...

I did read years back in "Uptight: The Velvet Underground Story" that Lou had a battery installed between the pickup and the jack of his guitar--hit the switch and instant boost!

I don't know if they have a demo or not on their site but you might wanna try that first before paying for it--That's how the Cakewalk guys hooked me!

You can load loops and song sections into Ableton and then re-arrange them very easily. It can be like a step sequencer for entire songs not just drum loops. But when I use it this way I export the finished parts into Sonar after I've gotten the "song" figured out and then use Sonar to finish and mi...

I'm a big fan of Sonar--it always does exactly what I need it to. Ableton Live is great but Sonar is I feel more flexible and just SOUNDS better. Play a track in Ableton Live and then the same track in Sonar -- I can tell a difference. I am interested in Reaper as an alternative though, maybe after ...

Plan B sounds great to me. Especially after tackling two seperate Plan A type albums that I've been working on since last January! Yeah, they'll sound great; yeah, I made decent money doing this--both of these clients show up one or two times a week to work on their album; regular paychecks I can co...

Since the mic stand is attached to the baffle board does it transfer any vibration or rumble from the speaker to the mic? What if the mic was mounted with a more shock-proof stand?

This is great! And what a smart way to put it all together. Makes me wish I hadn't sold those road cases I had. Could you put in a more adjustable mic mount? That way you could move the mic more to the center of the cone if need be or further away. But, really--just fantastic. And how quiet is it ou...

Hey, good myspace page--but looking at your gear list got me wondering:
Just how the hell do you fit all that in a 12x10 room? I've got half the equipment and nearly twice the room and it's tight tight tight somedays.

Yeah, sometimes phase isn't an issue--always check first. As far as gates on the bottom mic: Sometimes, but I've only ever done it AFTER it's tracked, during mixdown, just to make sure the gate doesn't miss something. I've actually had better results micing the SIDE of the snare--real tight, pointed...

So Slint falls into that categoriy of "Great bands to come out of Louisville, Kentucky AFTER I move away to Florida--along with My Morning Jacket and Squirrel Bait." I knew I should have given Louisville a few more years. Horrible bands were one of the reasons I moved away in the first place. You li...

Tape=pull it up out of the mud.
Digital=round off the edges.
Tape=bright detailed condenser mics are your friend
Digital=Ribbon mics are your friend.
Tape=Smooth
Digital=Present
This is the best way I've ever heard this explained. Very intuitive.

I used to think this was a bad idea until I tried it in a few sessions. As long as you keep the volume low and watch (that is: listen...) where you place the mics it can greatly enhance the session. A better feel and a little bleed never hurts.

Don't forget the bolts and screws to hold 'em together
Definitely go with those. Very nice.
