This thing has one wire going into it, with an RCA connector on the end. So should I strip that and attach the 1/4 jack there? Or is there something else I should look for?

Honky, I've got a Shinybox 23 that you could try out if you want to get together. I used it for male and female vocals and it's pretty brawny.
