When I was in the market for a monitor thingy I looked at all the options and a lot of reviews and got an SM Pro M-Patch 2 and I love it.

Also, I read Toothpaste for Dinner every day, so you know I gots good taste.

Hey, what can I say, I slacked on it. It's my band, members moved away, we don't play anymore and I slacked on finishing the recording. Inexcusable! But I will conquer it this weekend! I even booked the mastering time. I'll be posting some mixes next week for you guys to comment on. Mastering is in ...

Crazy.

I'm working on a project that I tracked a couple years ago in Recorderman style with Russian MC012s, and when I flipped the polarity on the kick drum mics I suddenly heard a nice kick drum sound again.

The snare is all good in relation to the overheads, though.

Austin -- what to do after New Year's?

Going to Austin for New Year's and will be staying a few days after. My fiance and I want to check out some shows and cool stuff, we've never been to Austin before.

What should we not miss?

thanks!

I totally had the same problem, took me awhile to figure out how a patchbay works. I like examples when I'm learning new stuff, so here's what I did: I've got a Echo Audiofire 12. It's got 12 ins and outs. I got myself two 48-point patchbays. So, on the top row of my first patchbay, the first 12 poi...

Berlin -- needs vocal treatment, something to give it some character and a sense of space. Lights out -- the individual elements don't sit together as a cohesive whole. Danger -- This is more cohesive. Needs more bass guitar. And I'd love to hear a truly distorted guitar somewhere in there. Good for...

The first Lucero record, The Attic Tapes, was done this way, mainly because Roy joined after they recorded most of it. I think in general its best for everybody to play together at once, but you work with what you got.

Earlier this year. I love it -- lots of different sounds with those three tone knobs, the volume knob and the three- and five-watt switch. The main guitar riffs were done on the three watt setting, feedback was on five watts. The gain on the five-watt setting gets a little unmanageable.

54 seconds of postwar pre-election catharsis (with pictures)

Hello. Here's a little ditty: http://www.rumandrebellion.com/mp3s/shame.mp3 And here are some pictures from tracking: http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e160/scottmacdonald00/102908_recording3_sm.jpg Overview. The tapeop omni in a PVC pipe pointed at a snare drum made an unlistenable boink. But the c...
