i'm gonna be really boring and say md421, though i have been using the josephson e22s on toms quite a bit lately.

i have a few soundelux mics. love them. U195: guitar amps, about a foot away. incredible. never really got it to work well with vocals. not that i need another vocal mic. ifet7: acoustic guitar, front of kick drum, bass cabs, and mono overhead in "i" mode. norah jones ripoff female vocals, saxaphone...

a couple of internet buddies of mine got the dual preamp and all seem to like it a lot. they just raised the price on all of the portico stuff, by the way. they weren't kidding when they said "introductory price".

after trying to decide which MIG amp to get, i bought a MIG60 last year. you can play the most ninny-shit ever through that amp and it sounds like fucking angus young.

the chameleon lab is awesome. i played around with one a couple of times.

i picked out the m160 as soon i heard the REST of the overhead tracks. much brighter. i like that mic.
