yeah, I am looking for something late 70's - mid 90's that would fit the bill.

I got an ok sound today with the modulation on the cheap old delay in our rack, but it bends the notes a little too noticeably. But it will do if it's my only option.

hardware ADT, my bad memory.

I am ashamed of myself. When I was in highschool I interned then worked in a studio and we had something in the rack for getting a double tracked vocal sound (slightly before computers). I can't remember what it was. I am looking for a couple decent options for fake double tracking some vocals on an...

How can you be sure you didn't turn green and go all apeshit and break the other one?
Because if I had done it I would have known something was wrong sooner! I think that session was finished and another mixdown session had started before anyone told me there was a problem.

they indeed were. Mackie liquidated their renaming stock. There are probably hudreds of home made theater systems with the parts I need mounted on the walls as surroundsound systems being fed by thousands of dollars of monstercable.

oh well.

as of right now I can still count the hours spent trolling repair shops. I am putting in an order for the new Mackie part. I don't expect it to sound the same, but maybe it will.

I'm still holding out hope that there is some secret I don't know about.

ha ha. I am named Bruce and I play in a band called Hulk Smash. I started using BruceBanner on the internet about ten years ago. I don't currently make bangin' beats, but I have been considering it. I'll have to come up with a better name. I can't use David Banner either. Both Hulk references are ta...

replacement woofers for Mackie hr824s in 2012?

I have a pair of the old HR824s in the control room at my studio. A few months ago a young engineer managed to blow out one of them. Not too big a deal, I had one replacement driver left, so I threw it in. My intention was to find a few pairs of replacements and put them on the parts shelf in the re...

ASHLY & SYMETRIX to replace my cheap old DBX comps?

hello, I have a setup that a few people use at my studio. In the outboard rack I have a handful of cheap DBX compressors, not 160a s or anything, more like 166xl, 266xl, that four channel one and a couple of project 1 era pieces. We have upgraded the studio and now are starting to bring more enginee...

plurgid - you are right. I have the Radio Shack Reverb already and love it. I used it on all of my (own) vocals on two full lengths and half a 7". I bought that new at Radio Shack when I was a kid. I was so upset that they didn't know the difference between delay and reverb. I used to use it to trac...

grossest, dirtiest, noisiest cheap preamp.

I am in the process of getting a handful of things for the studio and I am getting some nice things and acceptable things, but I want something so gross it makes you want to puke when you hear it. Just to balance out everything else we have been putting together. I am looking for distorted vocals, t...
