Re: Your favorite recorded guitar part ever?
OK, so sue me for the second post, but I wanna mention two specific solos: Neil Young on "Cinnamon Girl." Could it be any simpler, easier or right? Reeves Gabrels on Tin Machine's "Heaven's in Here." Could it be any more complicated, sophisticated, or wrong? you get my vote for best answer to any q...

Re: Your favorite recorded guitar part ever?
i know it's cheesy, and no big deal, but i've always loved the guitar solo in Journey's "any way you want it" ... mmmmm. i second television's "marquee moon". that is some fine guitarism. gotta love hendrix, but i couldn't decide. on a completely different spectrum, and while it may sound cliche, i...

just mentioned this in the fave guitar part thread: Kaki King - utterly amazing record. also the new Radiohead, old Black Sabbath, The Clash's London Calling, Television's Marquee Moon, Will Ackerman's anthology, Jurassic 5's latest, etc.

Re: Your favorite recorded guitar part ever?
"Love Rears Its Ugly Head" by Living Colour has the slinkiest, sexiest half-solo i've ever heard in my life. and the guitar solo from "Maybe I'm Amazed" off the 1st McCartney album is perfect. then there's pretty much everything Dave Gilmour's ever done. getting real into that Kaki King disc these d...

Re: Some questions about the digital stuff.
if you've got S/PDIF outs on your Fos', i would definitely go the S/PDIF route. i don't know the first thing about that stuff, but i know it's probably your best possible choice. as for bit depth, i really have no clue, as i'm just getting into this stuff myself (and actually kinda wishing i could g...

Re: New Jane's Addiction
i never really liked them, nor did i ever find them to be particularly "original". sounded like a lot of other bands at the time they came out. now wait just a minute there! who else back then thought to put together metal, punk, and... reggae! maybe a couple other bands, but who really remembers t...
