Re: choosing an older analog board....

try a studiomaster... 'The cool thing about those older boards is that they really impart a character to the sound, which i like since everything is sounding so clean these days. It's the main reason i keep my old desk around.' amen - everything that would suck about the studiomaster i have is actua...

'Plus, I don't think either of us (you, bigtoe, and I) have the physics chops to answer the question of how this works. That's why I'm asking it, and why you didn't answer it.' figure out the question you're asking...and we'll go from there. it's not all that hard...do you want an equation? yes wron...

'Especially useful is the table that shows the effective coverage of different stereo mic angles. For those who are good at wave mechanics and acoustics math/physics, anyone care to elaborate on this? ' get a protractor? it's not that hard...and even then the mic factors into it...not just the angle...

'Dont start talking like a quasi intellectual jerkoff because you know how to align a tape machine. Be fun to hang out with.' NO SHIT! and buy some screwdrivers, pop filters, wire cutters, and pliers. speaking of, color code the ends of your mic cables like i didn't do last night so when the vocal s...

"a reviewer here did the same thing once...same thing - said - 'overcompressed.'"

reviewers are idiots for the most part...they try to make a name for themselves by throwing mud and slinging their cocks around like anyone cares.

the writers in my town love me,

"This upsets me because I fear they will release a subpar product, and I care about this band and their records." do the best you can but this will drive you absolutely nuts... i find they make the record they want to make not matter what - you can beg and moan and cajole and pitch in time and money...

They are. In my city there are more recording studios than ever. I mean EVER. see but i bet most of these are home recording guys throwing their nets out...not necessarily studios up to the task. big difference... all of the folks i record record themselves in one way or another...always have...the...
