True. Liability, Theft, Disaster insurance is a must for anyone who has clients come onto the property .. or even if not. You can get in for around a minimum of $500 a year for the smaller policies. Small potatoes.

Re: Determining per-song rate for mixing

I would like to come up with a fair per-song rate equivalent to a reasonable amount of mixing "time", but I am not sure how many hours to base it on. Really depends and is usually project dependent based primarily on budget. For attended session, hourly seems to work, if you're doing a combo platte...

Greg, I remember those black bottom cd-r's. Used to get them from that spot in Sunset Park Brooklyn ages ago, but I think they stopped making them. Not only did they look kind of cool, they were the most reliable cd-r's I ever used. Never had one come out glitchy... Anyway. Thanks for all the thoug...

Just checking.. It's hard to find replication in the states for anything under 300 units.

Re: Analog Digital hybrid strategy: tape to protools, and ba

Has anyone been working this way? Or tried it? Constructive advice concerning which instruments to track digitally or best practices for A/D and D/A conversions and analog summing would be much appreciated!!!! Best bet might be to get a Lynx sync box and run both ana and digi at the same time. What...

You are so right about the other things that could be purchased for the same price. I already have the 160's, rnc's, 166's and such, and frankly, I'm considering the FMR PB6A as an alternative to the Distressor. I guess I'm intrigued by the idea of the versatility of the EL8. Paired with the M610 I...

. I've heard the 130 degrees in an oven thing, but I know that my oven is not very precise and I would really hate to screw this up Right. You can not use a conventional cooking oven because the temperature is not steady. It has to be a convection oven. ... or a food dehydrator which should be unde...

The newer apple earbuds (29.99) are actually a "big" improvement over the older model. The thing with a lot of cheaper in-ear phones is how they fit. If they are loose you are apt to get very little or a light low end. If they are pushed tighter and farther into the ear you will get more low end. .....

I've seen the reply same as Roy's above that AlbumCredits was going to cease and was surprised to see it still up and running. Sterling Sound I think runs it and gets their data from AllMusic. Would be interested to find out if the updates to Albumcredit then refers back and updates Allmusic.. I dou...
