I want to take jazz piano lessons in Seattle.
I want to take jazz piano lessons. I'm really a neophyte at piano, though I know theory pretty well (well, knew theory pretty well in college). So! My technique is nonexistent, my theory is good, and I think I basically just need a lot of time playing. Eventually I'd REALLY like to move to vibes. An...

Re: This whole thing took like two hours-
Just a thought, and not really for this tune, but miles in mind, have you ever tried a wah on the vibes? I haven't- that would be really interesting playing the wah- I'll be able to do that once I get my mixer (whenever that is) : ) I've been toying around with doing some distortion on the vibes a-...

Re: This whole thing took like two hours-
Thanks Rigsby, Sleepy, Cranial- I added onto the end; and changed the name- Let's launch over it I ran the drums through my MS-20's filters- something I need to do more often... The beginning on this version is a little messed up, I'm at work and can't fix it from here : ) Also, the vocals are just ...

This whole thing took like two hours-
Anybody have times when things just pop out? I work best in these two hour spurts- I think I need an editor or something to finess things after they've shot out of me. Broke all the blokes in my hand I sampled Miles Davis a (very) little bit, and I'm pretty pleased with the organ hihat. I'm really s...

I hate the fact that there's so bloody many of them and not enough of the mixers I want.

I'm SO SICK of the Mackie 1604
I'm in the market for an 8-16 channel mixer (Tascam with phantom power or Sound Workshop of possibly a old soundcraft) and in my daily perusing of craigslist and harmony-central and ebay (though I pretty much have ruled out ebay) I am just SICK of how many Mackie 1604's there are out there. Jeez, th...

Re: That halftime show was rad.
I was figuring they had it all prerecorded, but then they showed so many shots of the drummer and he was so right on, I was like "dang- I guess this must be live?"
That would make a lot more sense with the absolute lack of crowd noise.

Re: That halftime show was rad.
My favorite superbowl moment ever, though; was early in the game, on one of those "FOX SPORTS" shots between the commercials and the gam, with the dolphin with the football in his mouth, and immediately after when they cut to a shot of the field you hear one of the announcers go "was that real?"
