i worked with the event 20/20s for the past 2 years and finaly axed them, they are aweful aweful monitors. just 2 weeks ago i got a pair of the mackie 824s and i believe they sound amazing. it may just sound rediculous but i think my mixes are coming out better and translate better on other systems ...

i second paul, i had him out about a month ago. really a stand up dude, we worked on the consol and he hipped me on some tech tips and then he hung out for about an hour or so drinkin brew and talkin shop.

this was one of my first pieces of outboard and i swear it gets used every day. i love it on electric guitars and when not abused the compressor sounds great. however i do not like the DI on it but over all a great box

i would vote the distressors, while the dakings are also rediculously awesome compressors, i think if you are looking for your first pair and you want a very flexable compressor the distressors are the way to go.
