that list doesn't seem biased, not at all =) (what I mean is that most of all that is either really old or really metal) I personally would love to see 311 - use of time (Tim Mahoney) in there for the way the solo acts with the song...quite possibly the most perfectly matched solo (for feel) in any ...

You can find info on getting custom plugs here along with general music hear loss issues. I think those generally run around $150. If you can't afford that, I highly recommend Etymotic Research's ER-20 non-custom earplug. Much better than foam thingys. thanks man, quality hearing protection is my n...

listening too loud...all i can hear is mp3

concert last night...great show...way too loud. I should have stopped by the store and bought ear plugs. the "beep beep" on my car's keyless entry still sounds all jacked up.

the only thing I "worked" on was getting my hair cut. I've spent time thinking about how the studio I intern at is wired though...especially the cue/talkback systems. if i remember correctly (for the talkbacks), the last input on the wall panels in each room are all connected to the same place, then...

maybe this is a dumb question, but how do I reamp something w/o buying a reamp box? I've got the same problem w/ the soft synths I use occasionally to compensate for my lack of pricey organs/electric pianos, etc. I'm not opposed to plugins, but plugins on soft synths never adds up to quite 'real' s...

Glad you asked this. I was wondering the same myself as I was considering using solid vs. multi-conductor with a project I might start soon. Don't know if it is true or not, but I heard that solid is a better conductor however more prone to failure (single conductor vs. many conductors, single bein...

single conductor wires? anybody?

so tonight was my first night at the studio (I knew that John McBride owned it but it didn't occur to me that he is Martina's husband, so when she walked in today I was stoked cuz I used to have a crush on her! anyhoo) and the night mgr was showing me around and he told me that every wire in the stu...

I can say for certain that short people really dont like getting stuff for being short. It's no fault of their own... people have no idea how much crap they get. They even make less money as a whole. The worst one was when I was in second or first grade. We were watching "black beauty" in class, an...

well what I mean by the performance could use some work is...drums, keys, guitars, the timing is just off in a number of places. try playing to a click maybe? or whatever works for you to play each instrument in time with the others. I'm not the guy to ask about mix issues, it takes more experience ...

poor choice of words

This just goes to show you that everyone, no matter how good a "communicator" one might think they are, is prone to major verbal fuckups. This is absolutely terrible dude, I felt like a jackass all night afterwards...second day on the job and I got my punk points already. So we had this table, a guy...

it's a bit muddy...and it could use work on the performance aspect. timing between sounds/instruments is a bit off. I'd start with the performance and work on that. you didn't state what microphones you were using for what though, and what your room is like, which could have a lot to do with pretty ...
