Beck's new album, no vinyl, cd, nor mp3: play sheet music

Scores of them have, and Beck has been collecting their contributio...

Portishead's Geoff Barrow and friends created loops and samples and then pressed to vinyl. When initially reading the Wired article I immediately thought of Barrow and others who would likely utilize the 3D printing. Perfect.

Yes on converting to digital, in fact the original source in the Wired article is MP3; this is a vinyl rendering of an MP3. And without looking at it to confirm, I believe there was additional reduction in data to make due with current state-of-the-art standards in 3D capabilities. But still, one da...

Although I know of no copy and have no reason to believe a release is imminent, I hope for a CD/DVD copy of Godspeed You! Black Emperor show I attended in St. Louis the night before US invaded Iraq. The show saturated with immediacy and relevance to the wounded animal run of the US towards Iraq. Efr...

I think relatively soon the process will be invaluable for many in Tape Op community. Having followed several of the articles on wired about 3D printers and printed objects, the entire technology is fascinating. After rendering a scan of something in 3D and printing, I think the DIY ethic of many he...

3-D printer prints vinyl, slightly lossey, mild attenuation

http://www.wired.com/design/2012/12/3-d-printed-record/ While reading article some intermittent thoughts: '' 1) Add some grit and warmth to harsh digital files! 2) A new Lo-Fi tool! 3) The ability to sell digital downloads to vinyl enthusiasts who can match your release to their collection st...

All wise advice - which is both fundamental and advanced - reminding where to begin and also what to aim for in the end results. Mixerman helped me - though it is admittedly weakest skill set. But understanding and respecting your own limitations is invaluable. Initial poster had a great articulatio...

Support Group/Confessional for Specific Audio Obsessions

Welcome all, my name is timcoalman, My obsession is mini plugs and permutations of signal flow at the inexpensive and deceptively simple level of TRS, TRRS, RCA, XLR, adapters, splitters, et cetera. ? a point of pride when any device needs to connect to my mixer for transfer into computer. i don't get why you can't put these same limitations on a daw, or a radar limiting yourself when you could simply discipline yourself is asinine. I would embrace new tools, and use what works, and leave out what doesn't; not throw out an entire method of working for the sake of a "movement" (emphas...

I use my iPhone for lots of stuff in the studio. Tapping in tempos, tuner in a pinch, animoog, SynthStation, ProRemote for controlling PT, etc... I also use moon gels, Little Labs STD, and an Earthworks KickPad on nearly every session. As I am more of a hobbyist and record primarily my own projects...

many of the covers stick in my memory for days or weeks, for this one I kept wanting to draw rabbits of my own to represent other aspects of sound, but eventually felt the collection as is was perfect.

I would buy a poster as well
