Re: reverse reverb anyone?

I love playing with reverse reverb. Flipping the tape is not the same thing at all.

Re: what is the future of recording?

The future of music is hyper reality like in video games. 3D sound and stuff like that. Wasn't there a thread on here not that long ago about new speakers that can localize the sound to specific areas that sound like the music is being played INSIDE your head.

Re: WHITE ALBUM - DISTORTION?

And I heard they ran the guitar on revolution through more than one preamp and into the board. Although since it was EMI I'm pretty sure they do know how they got that sound, since the engineers were required by the higher ups to document everything under penalty of guillotine.

Re: Tube substitutions for a tiny little amp: 12av6, 50c5, 3

Are you sure its a power transformer, and not the output transformer? There should probably be two transformers on the chassis.

Re: Tube substitutions for a tiny little amp: 12av6, 50c5, 3

Hmmm, I'll just throw in my two cents even though I'm not an expert. The 35w4 is part of the power supply(the rectifier) so there probably isn't any reason to change that. You might want to change the 12av6 with a 12au6, or 12at6, (I think those are the right numbers), those might have a lower ampli...

Re: Loveless is quiet...and loud

From what I've read about Loveless is that Colm O'Coisig got sick during the recording, and they sampled other stuff he did and just fit it into songs. I always thought that seemed kind of funny since they took a while to record it so he must have been sick for a while! Ole Kevin also says that the ...

Re: Huge, incredible sounding records.

I don't know if this is the same "huge sound" that you are talking about, but I've been listening to George Harrison's All Things Must Pass, and songs like art of dying and wah wah are just amazingly noisey and convoluted and sound amazingly huge. Of course Phil Spector is producing so...
