Buddy of mine had on e and installed a BadAss II bridge. Big improvement in action and intonation. Cost half as much as the bass.

I'm sure you could make some bass speakers work fine. But, as mentioned before, it won't likely be the best sounding bass amp, and you'd still be renting gig gear. There are several guitar amps I like for bass, but if you're primarily using it for bass, get a bass amp. Your money is better spent buy...

"Night Shift" was pretty cool, though. "Night Shift" was pretty bad. Wasn't that after Lionel left the Commodores too? I seem to remember they hired another guy with a pencil-thin mustache to take his place. Crap. No it's stuck in my head. My 80's guilty listening pleasures include "True" by Spanda...

I think most of the issues with the MIMs/Squiers isn't that they're all bad, it's that there is poor quality control. Yeppers. I picked up a Squier P-bass in a trade a couple months ago, and after a string change it plays and sounds every bit as good as my last MIM Fender bass. Fantastic? No. Usabl...

Re: Glynn Johns Drums...Why does it work?

but when we showed the prof pictures of the setup he disregarded it as incorrect mic technique. Unless this particular exercise was specifically geared towards you recording one of a set list of stereo setups (like choosing between XY & Blumlein), your prof is full of shit. The proper technique thi...

I don't know. I played a '78 4001 for over 10 years and only used Fender super bass strings-- standard round wound strings, changed regularly. No neck problems, no undue fret wear. YMMV, I guess.

Bummer... I just tossed an old set of strings-- I'll keep this thread in mind next time.

I know the names, not the dudes. I'm closer to the Wack Trucks/Miami Death Machine crowd (good pals-- I did a few cd's for them), back in the poppier early aughts. I know a couple of the 3358 guys, mostly in a student-teacher kind of way, but I'm working on some stuff for Audrey. Maybe we'll run int...

It's been a while, but yes. I used to play there fairly often. I actually officiated the funeral a few years back. Good times.

When you say you have the switch on the ADA8000 set all the way to the left, do you mean to "WC IN?" If so, then the ADA8000 is looking for word clock from the BNC connector. It's not going to find it, so it likely won't be converting anything to output. It should work on ADAT IN, as long as you hav...
