has anyone compared the 4050's w/ shure KSM44's at all? i've never used a 4050, but have worked with a pair of 44's in the past and thought they sounded really nice. since the 4050s are cheaper i'd be interested to hear a comparison. -ryan p.s., it relation to the thread topic, check into the 44s. t...

Shure KSM44 is a solid mic. a hair above your budget, but very useable on a lot of things.

I bought a pair of RM1's but I can't get them to work. Can anyone tell me where to stick the I-lok??  Actually, that's not true, by the time I got home they had already upgraded to the RM1.010113 version to fix a problem where all the bottom and all the top end dis-appear when I run ...

i use my EH pre with my "expensive" Charter Oak mic for vocals sometimes, and think it sounds great. i've also used it with "expensive" neumanns on ac. guitar with sick results. pad it up!

It's really not. we would just hit rec. at the same time on both so that there was very little delay between the start times. both laptops we were using were identical too, so i assume that makes things easier.

i have limited experience with the sm7, but i've used it on kick and bass cab, both with fantastic results. one of the best amped bass sounds i've ever gotten.
