I had a TSR-8 for several years. I don't believe it matters. For what its worth, I had the original box and the unit is shipped lying on its back (hubs up). Just a thought in case you ever transported it.

I've moved my Steinway, Studer a800's, and console a few times over the years here in NYC. I've always been able to get the job done with 4-5 buddies and a rented truck. I've also felt more comfortable moving audio gear myself. I had one Studer come to me from LA via van lines and let me tell you, t...

Terry Manning has a forum he hosts on the web: http://recforums.prosoundweb.com

I recall reading about Back n black there. There is also a "Pensados Place" with George Saer if you like Van Halen. Hope that helps.

A session player we use frequently phoned me yesterday and said his band was recording at rubber tracks that day. So I finished my session at 6 and headed over. There's been talk about it and I wanted to see the place and a session for myself. Here's the rundown... The place is huge, but the live ro...

Tchad Blake is the mad note. His binaural recordings are pretty great to hear too.

I had a similar experience to this one, where a band came into my spot for a meet n greet about tracking and they brought their "demo" they had just tracked.... with Sylvia Massey....

I believe Tracey Korby had a RETRO like remake in the works some time ago, but it never went into production. I'd imagine that even with the plugins of classic gear being made the hardware will still be sought after because it really is something completely different. Plus, what plugin do you use wi...

Everything Nick put forth above is the right take on this. We get asked alot by clients if they can add to mixes at home. Since everyone nowadays has some sort of recording rig they feel empowered to go back into their mixes usually because the personnel has changed, they wrote more parts, they deci...

Thanks for the suggestion, but that's not the direction we're trying to go in. The standalone recorder (like our Masterlink) seems out of place when running a multitrack DAW. I've used one for analog mixdowns but I'd like to have the flexibility of software and I can't stand working through those bu...

Hoping to get some more feedback... maybe this should be moved to the Computer section? Anyway, I spoke with Fred Forssell this morning and we'll have the stereo ad/da coming this week on the basis that we can give it a listen since there's not alot of them around. In any case, I'm still looking for...

The main thing you need an external clock for would be multiple converters connected to the same machine. Yup, at the moment we have an aurora 8 clocked off an aurora 16 and I was thinking if the 2nd G5 didn't come into play, a master clock would be in order. Since the processors in the old G5 can ...

Digital 2 trk options, variations....

I'm looking for some advice/feedback to setting up our digital two track. In short, I've been printing back into the PT session via two channels off our 2nd Aurora via one of the consoles 2 trk sends and monitoring the mix in input until its time to print. We're going to be purchasing an ad/da dedic...

Just a thought, but I remember reading an article about Derek Trucks Super Reverb and how on tour they had to put some economy car speakers in the thing and it sounded so good that tey left em in. Maybe something to try?
