Well, it looks like my budget butt is gonna have to deal...
Well, so far the only way I can see to swing this is to use a buddies Ensoniq SQ-1 +32 as a midi controller and purchase a sound module. The digital piano thing is to expensive and I might want to add some other sounds later on. So how do modules work? Do I just connect a midi cable from the SQ-1 to...

Analog Tape machine head alignment
Can anyone give me advice on how to go about making sure the heads are aligned on a Tascam MSR-16 machine I just purchased? How do I align them? Can I or do I have to have a pro do it?

Midi Controller
Ok, so I posted a question several days ago asking about inexpensive, REAL sounding digital pianos and received great advice and help from everyone. Thank you everyone! During that line of advice, I noticed many of you advised me to purchase a soundless weighted midi controller and a sound module th...

Right, I guess it would the the master after I stripe track 16. Ok, now it make sense.
I know I need a box that converts midi to something and then back to midi. But what does it convert it to?

Re: TIme Code? Stripeing? Midi to time code? WHAT?
Ok, just to make sure I understand. We are using cakewalk and cakewalk will be generating the "timecode". The time code leaves the Aardvark from the Midi ports (see back panel picture above) and enters the Tascam on track 16. The output of track 16 then goes back into the Aardvark (midi input) and C...

TIme Code? Stripeing? Midi to time code? WHAT?
Ok, so here's the deal. I've got a Aardvark Q10 and on the rear of this device http://www.aardvarkaudio.com/aasd-v1/download/photos/Q10/Q10-front-&-back.jpg has a Midi In and Out port. Now, I've also got a Tascam 16 track 1/2" reel-to-reel and I'm trying to figure out how to sync the Aardvark and Ta...
