I like this trend. I just changed mine from lancebug, not that it matters, since I am a hack recordist and a spotty poster.

looking at the graph, i dont see the low end strength on th 664, as it looks like a steady gradual fall from around 1k. Doesnt mean it doesnt sound great on bass sources, just surprising looking at the graph. The 660 i always thought of as a proto re-10/15. The one i have sounds like a slightly less...

I have had good luck with the Roxul Rockboard 60. $50 per 6pack of 2'x4'x2". There's a few other options on the same page. Supposedly there is also something called Ultratouch, which is supposed to be made out of recycled blue jeans, which in theory would be less itchy that rockwool.

Those are cool little compact mixers. I have had one for 6 or 7 years and it always finds a use in the studio. Right now its in the studio routing some synths and an Alesis Wedge to my patch bay. A few weeks ago it was mixing a few instruments at a live show and sending them to the house PA. Footpri...

I have been using a pair of CAD M179s in this application lately (kind of a Glyn Johns/Recorderman hybrid) and have been pretty happy with the results. My room is pretty treated and my drums are tuned low, however. If you have a brighter room and a drummer who loves to ride the high-hats, you may b...

Didn't you mean to write "email sent about the Trakmaster"? You realize that its a Platinum series, and Platinum is more valuable than gold and silver put together.

Symetrix 528, Focusrite Trakmaster (original one)

Getting ready to put these up on the bay, so I thought I'd air them out here first. Sale Pending Symetrix 528 is the original one (not the E) with the colored knobs and is running great. Only getting rid of it cause I just picked up 4 SX202's which have the same preamp stage, and I don't eq/compress...

4 Symetrix SX202's for $97 total (thats about $12 per channel). All 4 look brand new, but are going to need some deoxit for scratchy pots and switches. I suspect they have been sitting in a closet at the local university since the late 90's. DANG!!! do the mods and you've got some good stuff for ch...

I'm excited that they're on the road and are passing through town in Sept. +1 on the follow up interview, although I know its not at all likely. Would love to get a glimpse into their writing process.
