t could be that the 'pluck' is exciting the other half of the string, the part between the nut and the fret below your finger. Try muting that part of the string and see if it goes away. I would guess that philbo is right, especially if your action is too high. perhaps there is too much relief in t...

source for a .047uf electrolytic capacitor?

i'm getting set to re-cap my ecoplate 1 but can't find anyone who carries a .047 microfarad electrolytic cap. i hoped it was a misprint, but i spoke to jim cunningham (who designed it) and that's what it was, alright. I've tried mouser, digi-key, allied and antique electronics supply to no avail. do...

which fender amp schematic do i need?

i'm getting ready to recap my silverface bassman and silverface vibrolux and am wondering how to figure out which schematics i need to look at, since there are several versions of each available either online or in the Tube Amp Book.

thanks!

I used mine for the first time yesterday and it's awesome. If I played on someone's project in the past, I had to teach the client how to run the tape machine. I also had a guest engineer mixing tape into nuendo, and i just handed him that instead of giving a lengthy explanation of keyboard commands.

Sample rate wierdness with G5

I'm newish to the digital realm, so I hope that one of you smart people understands my problem: Everything (Nuendo 3.2, Tracktion 2, iTunes) sounds fine when my Lynx 2C card is set at 88.2, but if I operate at any other sample rate, things play back/record at the wrong speed. I find this especially ...

Placing a reflective wood platform under drums...good idea?

I met a guy who used to be a stage hand at the Erwin Center (Austin's "arena" venue) and he said that when Buddy Rich came he brought a giant sheet of plywood to put under his drums. So definitely do it if your tracking room is about 1/2 mile long and 1/4 mile wide. I don't remember who suggested it...

Let us know how it goes, Arman. I think I'm going to send mine in in January; I just got a lynx card, so if i can get the 828 to cooperate with it, it'd be nice to keep around for more channels.

Re: Supplies for making cables...

cameltraders seems to have good prices on connectors. that's who i've done most of my bulk connector shopping with.
