Re: The Clash
no one should really mess with the clash, but i guess sometimes it's hard to hear greatness over the negative voices in our heads. We're all entitled to our own opinions though, luckily

a test of will
i walked into guitar center today with a couple of grand and i didn't buy anything. I was shaking as I left. Now I know it's guitar center but keep in mind i saw 6176's, trident pre's, avalon stuff. So many mics I wanted. It hurt to leave empty handed but i decided for the first time I would wait to...

Re: Strokes "Room on Fire"
on that note about the drums machine sound, I had read that they sat in the studio trying to get real drums to sound like a drum machine, which is really funny. maybe they triggered on some stuff, or used samples in the mix.

Strokes "Room on Fire"
So I like this album a lot. I love the songs. I'm partial on the recording. It fits the band I guess, but I'm just really curious as to how it would've sounded with Nigel producing. They were originally working with him but they were finding his style too slick or whatever and they ended up doing it...

Found weird crazy mics in my attic, what are they?
Well I atleast know that they're Akai M-7's That's what it says right on them, but they don't look like mics, they kind of look like mini-speakers. They look like they're from the 70's, little 3 inch silver boxes with a 1/4 inch chord attached. They sound awesome and that's all that matters, but I'm...

Studios In Idaho
Well I was just reading the website of a band I love, and they're recording in Northern Idaho. They're a Boston band...weird. I wanted to check out the studio they're recording in. Anyone know of any studios in Idaho, or know a way to find out. Google did me no justice

importing audio from cd into pro-tools
I'm trying to figure out how to import audio into a pro-tools session from an audio cd. Everything I've tried has left me convinced that my computer is confused with what I'm asking it to do, however I'm POSITIVE that it is in fact me who is confused. Anyone know what's up?

interpol record
I was just wondering if anyone had any info on the interpol record. I really like this album, and I really love the way it was recorded. The delay on the guitars remind me of old U2 recordings, and I love and the drums, bass, and vocals a lot too. Oh and the reverbs/////,man oh man....very nice, ver...

my old mixer
i got an old electro-voice mixer from the 70's. It's a stereo mixer but it only has one main output. If i just get a cable from radio shack that goes from 1 end into 2, will i be all set? does that even make any sense? thanks

mixing down to analog from digital
I recorded a song at home on my korg d12 digital workstation. It came out better than I thought it would. I want to try to push it as a single of some sort. Would it be worth my while to go to a real studio and mix it down to 1/2 inch before I master it, or would it be a waste in the long run. I was...
