To switch from a personal page to a band page you have to send a note, via "contact myspace" I believe, asking them to let you switch. Eventually you'll get an email back with instructions on how to do it.

Re: Can they do this on ebay?

I'm pretty pissed off because I think I was cheated out of a purchase on ebay by the seller... WS I've had great luck with small things on eBay - guitar pedals, CDs, books - but I only buy from people who have outstanding feedback. My one "big purchase" was a board for $800, but it turned out fine ...

Chris, it's proper to use two spaces after a period ending a sentence.[/quote]

I beleive that custom has fallen by the wayside in recent years. At least that's what a magazine editor told me.

Craig was featured in a very early issue of the magazine. The article can be found in the Tape Op Book.

Craig has had a big hand in some of my favorite records over the last several years & I, too, would love to see a current interview.

I understand Mr. Tweedy had the same problem at his Portland (?) show. I saw him in Arcata, CA a couple of weeks back and he was very appreciative about the audience's attentiveness. It was a great great show. Jeff joked with the audience a lot and even had mini-conversations with audience members. ...

Yeah - One Plus One / Sympathy For The Devil is great too. It's a totally different thing. I love "Making Of" album docs & have most of the Classic Albums series, Lennon's Making of Imagine, Blood Brothers, etc. I think you're right - the polished audio tracks combined with the low-budget video foot...

I apologize for not responding to Dither's question sooner. So what do I like about the Prairie Wind DVD? It's a DVD that visually documents the recording of the album. No, it's not a documentary on the making of the album. Neil brought in a few video cameras and taped (?)everyone as they were recor...

Just got it. I love the DVD showing the recording of the songs. Essential viewing, I'd think, for Tape Oppers.

Is "Chico" short for Chicago? Tatertot - I could be wrong, but I assume Mr. Hammertime is from Chico, California, a small college town north of Sacramento. Larry Crane's band, Vomit Launch, was from Chico. Regarding the Dead, I've developed a bit of a new appreciation for them over the last several...

Hi Hillary - The website looks fantastic. Great job! Converting all of the bonus articles into PDF files was a great idea. I've been meaning to print them out & put them in a binder - now that'll be much easier. Also, it's great that the board is up and running smoothly. I didn't realize how much I'...

Selling vinyl in Portland

My mom has loads of her deceased father's records in Portland, OR. I don't think there's too much really great there - I'm sure there's no old blues or folk and minimal jazz, probably no Sinatra, certainly no rock and roll. But there probably is some Bing Crosby and other crooners, and probably also...

Re: how do you catalog your sessions?

I use the database program that came with my computer (windows) for a lot of things like this. You can sort the database any way you like - by date, by client name, by project name, by genre, whatever. For instance, you could store your masters by date, but then you might get a call from a previous ...

Re: The first time I ever walked into a "real" stu

Great topic idea! The first time I ever walked into a "real" studio was to spend a couple hours to watch a friend of a friend make a record. My friend was the bass player and his friend was the main guy / songwriter / singer in the band. At one point main guy wanted to double-track his vocal on the ...
