Re: Help I have to record an ACDC cover band
Duct tape on the snare. Have the drummer use a bigger stick, backward in his left hand. Have him lay off the hat and really focus on BD and SD. Combine that with the above and a ass player to lock into and you'll half way there...

Oxide Lounge Recording
I only had analogue tape when I opened and it's still my choice (getting my new 2" machine tomorrow!).
SanCastle Mastering
My 'project mastering' room is at my house. I named it because my last name is SanFilippo and every man's home is his Castle.

Re: Which 2, 8 or 16-track R2R models have 30IPS ?
Most wide track pro machines will have 15/30 ips. Many narro track machines won't. Some can be modded and there must have been some made to run at 30ips.

Re: multiple speaker pairs off a single power amp
I'll look tonight for the model number. I use it on my secondaries, that don;t sound great to start with, but I don't think it degrades. Teh NS-10s still sound like NS-10s...

Re: multiple speaker pairs off a single power amp
I've got an Adcom box that works fine. I've got my active monitors out of console speaker A and my passives out of speaker B and that goes to an integrated amp (also Adcom) to the switcher which has a "protector" to run all the speakers at once. I think the switcher is for five pairs. I've only got ...

Re: NERD GAME: let's play "What's He Doing?"
I didn't realize it was Eno. I though it was Frampton typing his mantra "I will record a really boring live record that will sell millions! I will record a really boring live record that will sell millions! I will record a really boring live record that will sell millions! I will record a really bor...

Re: What makes you decide to compress?
I often use lots of compression. Every song and record is a bit different, but there things that tend to happen almost universally. These are general ideas, not a formula or requirement!
