In me own 'umble opinion, mastering can tidy up or wreck a mix and I have heard both. However leaving something boomy before mastering seems somewhat silly to me. To me a mix should be as close to perfect as you are ever gonna' get it. Mastering is to fine tune, fix minor discrepancies (all control ...

I have two. They were passable. I replaced the tubes in them and that made them less noisy and seem to open them up a bit more.
