Harrison Pro 790 console questions
i'm getting a harrison pro 790 soon and from what i understand, the hookups are all molex. i hear this is a hell of a process. im not looking forward to it at all but i think it will be worth it.. esspecially for the price i'm getting the board. what i'm wondering... so i can start my research, is i...

yes. both buttons light up.. it's just that nothing happens. play, stop, record, and edit DO NOT light up, however.
i'm hoping it's a dirty molex..

trouble shooting an MCI JH-110B
i recently picked up a jh-110b 1/2" 4 track for dirt cheap. tonight i went to fire it up and... three of the four modules look like they pass signal. i threw up a reel and the brake clicked when it went through the sensor: a good sign, i though. i tightened up the reel and tried to rewind. nothing h...

i just used a pair for the first time this past weekend. i used them for overheads through API 3124s straight to GP9. they completely blew me away. very smooth and silky but full bodied. the only bummer was that the ride side started buzzing and not passing audio half way through day one. total bumm...

comp ohs
the only time i compress overheads is when the cymbals are just too out of hand. that has all to do with the drummer in my opinion. i've had a lot of luck with a tube tech LCA2B. if i'm going for a 'compressed' sound then a good neve comp (don't know which number) will do. 1176s have been good as we...

i almost bought this board. i still kick myself for not buying just about every day. i didnt because i was moving my studio into a very old house with a very narrow stairway and very weak power. i dont think i couldve gotten it up stairs and it probably wouldve blown a fuse every time i turned it on...

me friend and i just repaired one that kind of stopped making sound. we ended up going through it and completely fixing everything up. we didnt end up using the website because we decided to just figure it out on our own, and we did, very successfully. we pulled out all of the rubber/plastic membran...

i got the combo. i took it out the box, plugged my guild s-100 into it, and cranked it. i really loved the sound. cool on bass, too! then i threw a mullard into it. totally rockin! it's a bit 'buzzy'. i read once that the input is not grounded and could be easily modified. i havnt explored that yet ...

to me, the best thing to buy first is instruments. bands that come into your studio don't care about your royer 121 or whatever.. they WILL be psyched to know you have a wurli or a set of beautiful zildjian cymbals. you'll be psyched, too. more people will be stoked about your studio and you'll be a...

a studio i work at just got a germ. unfortunatly the 'thick' switch didnt work so we sent it back. you'd have to hold it half way between on and off to hear it. with that said though.. there are some great tonal options. esspecially with what i can hear from using the thick switch the little that i ...

i second the groove tubes comment. i fell into a 1a years ago. i bring it around to studios and it ALWAYS get's used. it's a solid mic. i've had good luck with vocals, some percussion, acoustic guitar, kick drum, piano. rock solid. and from what i understand.. the model 2's diaphragm was josephson-d...

that's how i rock my JMP usually. and sometimes my bassman. it doesnt seem to drive the amp more.. it just seems to allow for more tonal options. but maybe im doing something wrong.
