No electronics on this one. Not really all that folky either. Mostly straight-up rock with some great instrumentation. Sonically fantastic too. An album that hit me at literally the perfect minute of my life. The Wilco album in 10/90ths inferior. Are you saying the album is 11% what the movie is or ...

Mute the input tracks in Logic and leave the monitor software unmuted. That way you will have latency-free monitoring.

Thanks for all of your replies. I liked the idea of the M88 because of its ability to excel in multiple applications (I don't have many good mics). But even if the E602 is a specialty mic, at its price and the praise it is getting here, it might be the ticket.

Kick Mic with m160 overheads

I just ordered a second m160 and my next move is imminent.

I am looking to find a kick mic to use within a 3 mic configuration on a small drum kit with two m160s as overheads. What mic would compliment that type of sound? M88 perhaps?

Thanks for your thoughts.

These two answers were just what I was looking for. Thanks!

Though I don't see where I can buy any less than 25 boxes from the online outlets Mr. The Scum recommended. I am only looking for around 10 or so. I might have to stick with Staples or the like unless anyone has any other ideas.

Boxes for mailing rack gear

I'm about to unload a bunch of stuff. What size boxes do you all recommend for shipping 1U and 2U rack equipment. Does anyone have any recommendations for inexpensive decent boxes?

Thanks.

I've had a Zoom RT234 for a long time. I find it very easy to use. Almost as easy to program the beats as it is to tap record them. Doesn't sound spectacular but good. Can't control stereo placement. Has headphone out and bass sounds. I think they're very cheap now.

Cool stuff. Regarding your issues with headroom, linked below is one of the best threads in the history of the tapeop messageboard. Essentially make sure that you are hitting your digital converters at the level they are calibrated for (likely around -18 dBFS). Do NOT try to "use all the bits" and h...
