FMR RNP Gain Pot Repair

I idiotically managed to snap the gain knob off channel A on my RNP, does anyone know if this would be feasible to replace and could perhaps suggest a suitable part? I'd really like to get this fixed without it making the round trip to Austin and back!

Weezer's Pinkerton is another great example of the opposite of what you suggested. Both bands we're punished FOR innovating and for NOT coasting along with more of the same. Okay, I'll qualify that statement as 'all of the above bands except MGMT', because I do actually like that band. They did sho...

'Congratulations' is about as far as you can get from "coasting along". It's not that they couldn't write another dumb synth pop album for unimaginative bros & sorority girls. They were punished FOR innovating. Their album was second only to Suburbs last year, IMO. A remarkable album, too artistica...

When Bands Fall Off Cliffs

http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2011/oct/27/when-bands-fall-off-cliffs This is a pretty interesting article about bands who's fanbase seems to decline dramatically, rather than a series of grim touring accidents. I personally think the bands mentioned in the article are especially susceptible to thi...

Almost every record I've ever made has been on a mac. It's staggering what one man achieved over the course of his life. RIP.

To force myself to work closer to an older style I've been using busses as a pseudo 8track (or less), and trying to restrict myself to effects and so on for just those submixes. I actually prefer doing this with drums rather than applying a different plugin to everything.

I live in Britain, we're lucky to be blessed with the NHS. It's not perfect, but I can't imagine life without it. I realise some people disagree but I couldn't imagine the idea of being sick and that being it unless you paid up. Digression over! I was wondering what the tipping point was for people ...

What does 'corporate post production audio' entail usually?

BTW iamthecosmos, really glad to see some Gene Clark on this board. Dillard & Clark is probably the most played group in my iTunes. Amazing record, very hard to find any information about the recording of it. There's a tune he did in the 80's called Dark Of My Moon that's easily one of the best son...

9-5. Software. 100% non-music/art-related. Usually that sucks, but at the same time, it gives freshness and perspective to my "hobby." Definitely coming from the same place here. I handle cell phones for an IT company. Nothing music-related about it, except getting acquainted with T-Mobile's and Ve...

Do you have a chart for 7.5 ips for the MPX? It's pretty dark.

Day Jobs (or what else you do apart from engineering)

Apologies if this isn't the place for this but it seems like the closest fit of the forums. Anyway, I was wondering what those of you who work day jobs do. Or to put it another way, if you're supplementing your engineering work with another job, how close is it to music and what you care about? Are ...

I have seen people singing along at a Sigur Ros gig (or attempting to). This confused me greatly. Radiohead did some smaller (3000 capacity) gigs a few years ago where someone considered the best time to shout 'WE LOVE YOU THOM' was during the quietest part of Fake Plastic Trees. Some people just do...
