It's sad that Leo's is going away. I think the internet age is going to make things really hard on people who need good information and honest opinions as well as good customer service. Me, I'd rather look someone in the eye and talk face to face than to read reviews by someone I will never meet and...

Shure SM-7 best mic for screamer rock vocal. $350.

For LDC ADK has an S-7 that takes a lot of SPL.

ADK has a new mic coming out called THOR that has three patterns, and tons of EQ.

IF you like the bright try AT 4033 or Neumann TLM 103

You're here in Portland right ? Do the speakers have grills ? If so, pull them off and check the surrounds. Foam surrounds get eaten in damp climates and you will lose bass for sure. I had some JBL's that had one woofer in the pair get eaten almost completely gone and the other was fine. (????) Heav...

Old Jackpot Building coming down today

So driving past the old Jackpot building I saw the demolition has begun of the building that used to house Jackpot and the one next door that used to house Rex Recording. Condos going in there probably.

Time marches on.

Those Snarks are the shit. They are bright and easy to see, work fast, don't bounce around too much, and they are CHEAP!!!! I only have one but foresee one in every guitar case before long. I have the TC Electronic in my pedal board (my tiny three pedal havin, embarrassingly little pedal board) and ...

Studio work is not the kind of thing you can just start doing at the level where you make a living (with school or without school.) If you are a complete newbie and you hate learning from you tube video's, books, or watching friends over their shoulder, then school might have some value, but it won'...

I think foil was used in auto-reverse decks (so you could play Dionne Warwick and Burt Bacharach non-stop for 3 hours at your cocktail party). The foil was reflective and triggered the auto-reverse mechanism. Correct me if I'm wrong....I'm old and used up all my RAM

Recording the Beatles +3 or whatever its up to. LOVE that book. Leave it sitting around in the studio and people will have something great to read while the singer is trying to sing in tune.
