Re: tape tape

Re: Reel to reel problem - please help
Try the Buddy Holly method... hey thanks Penelec, that has a nice ring to it! i'm not sure its much of a "method", though. actually, one thing you can do after you superglue the pieces is to fill the spaces around the broken pieces with epoxy to reinforce the repair and keep it from flexing. be car...

Re: Reel to reel problem - please help
hey magritte, sorry to take so long to reply, but i have been sitting in the dark for the last 2 1/2 days courtesy of hurricane ivan. you have to take the hubs off the tsr-8 before you can disassemble them. all that that requires is taking the big screw from the center of the hub out. it then just s...

Re: Reel to reel problem - please help
i took a picture, where can i send it to you? i believe it is the hub...i just didn't know the name of those things. i thought the manual said to take off the front to get to them but i guess i didn't have to. however, i don't see any screws on them. just one in the center (you'll see in the pictur...

Re: Reel to reel problem - please help
hey magritte, i'm confused. you took off the front panel of the tsr-8? from your description it sounds like the part you are having trouble with is the reel hub--the dark gray plastic piece that holds the reel on. that part comes off of the machine without taking the machine apart. i'm not sure how ...

Re: 60s shit fuzz
thats a good idea with the variable power bigmuff..thanks again for the tubeverb BH..i have been enjoying the ringy psychadelic verb but using it as a line amp for a guitar chain makes the guitar sit really well in my mixes..weird.. glad its working out, i wish i had thought to try it out as a line...

Re: 60s shit fuzz
my dad had a vox dist unit that he bought when he was in high school and passed it on to me once i hit high school. ...t Vox Tonebender? that might be right for the job. also, has anyone ever experimented with using dying batteries in a Big Muff? I got the coolest sound ever from that scenario. It ...

Re: B&O Ribbon Mic..anybody?
hey, i have the sank modded BM-6 which is the mono version of what alex has, i would assume. i agree with his description, very dark and smooth on the top end. definitely needs lots of gain. it loves my altec 1567a. the pre's on my AMEK BCII struggle with it. when i got it i realized how hyped my LD...
