His site still exists...

I want email him and see if the "notes" page still exists. Seems like he put together a lot of great info and pictures too.
Does anyone still have the pictures he posted?

Reputable Microphone Repair?
I was wondering if anyone knows a reputable company (or person) who can repair CAD microphones? I've been having issues with a CAD E-200. I called CAD and to my surprise, they do not fix these mics anymore. I've been around the block with the whole battery issue (mic DOES produce signal with NO batt...

Ok, so I tried some brandy-new Duracell 9-volts for a simple test to rule out bad (Radio Shack) rechargeable batteries. No signal... I dunno, I'm at a loss. I guess the capsule works - because it produced signal with (no) batteries. But (with) batteries, it doesn't work? I actually tried calling CAD...

You could try putting in a couple alkaline 9v batteries for a short test. It'll still need phantom, and the phantom will attempt to charge the batteries (not good for non-rechargeable), so only do it for a few minutes at most. Unless the current batteries have melted down the mic should be fine. Hm...

They use 8.4 volt "9 volt" batteries... as opposed to the more commonly found 7.2 volt "9 volt" batteries. Which Radio Shack batteries do you have? Up until a year or two ago they had blue-colored NiCds that were a good replacement. The current green ones won't work as well. http://www.cheapbatteri...

CAD E200 - Problem - 9Volt -vs- 8.7 Volt?
I've had an E200 for a while. It worked ok when I got it from eBay. The batteries went dead. It sat for a while and I finally replaced them with RADIO-SHACK "Enercell" (rechargeable) 9-volt batteries. I've read that these mics need 8.4 volts - and 'not' 9-volt? On the package, it doesn't say 8.4... ...

AKG D12 - Where/Who Can Fix?
Was wondering if anyone knows where to get a D12 fixed. This weekend's past session seemed to kill the diaphragm or capsule. All was working fine when recording the bass cabinet. But once it was time to redo a drum track, the force of the air must have been the straw that broke the camel's back. Bec...

Not sure if this was posted, but I was watching the show "How Its Made" - and what did they have on? How Neumann U87s are made.

The Lexicon PCM81 is best for delays in my opinion. It's actually my go to lead vocal delay. Just set it to the session tempo using the P.3.0 Panned Delays preset and off you go. ReverbOne is a fine plug-in but it's really not that hard to tell the difference between a high end outboard fx box and ...
