I also have a 14" catalina birch floor tom that really sounds great. I've got it tuned up as a jazz kit alth...

I'm also finishing up a complete CD with a virtual band. Some of us have never met in person. We use different DAWs too. We all used our own personal ftp spaces but here's a tip for you folks without ftp/web space-- if you have a gmail account you also have 100MB of free web space. and not crappy di...

Return to Forever
I just saw Return to Forever last night in Austin, TX. http://www.clipartof.com/images/emoticons/thumbnail2/469_jaw_dropping.gif wow, what a show. And Chick says they were still "practicing". These guys are true masters of their instruments. And as Lenny White said: "In the age of boy bands - this i...

Eisen mic pre for API 500 series rack or lunchbox
Eisen mic pre module (from www.eisenaudio.com) that fits the API 500 series racks and lunchboxes. Purple Op Amp, JLM 1:4 input transformer and Cinemag CMOQ-2S output transformer. I bought it pre-assembled. The choices for opamp and xfmrs was supposed to get close to the "Neve" sound (although I cann...

so I did the house cleaning and changed my buffer size and have not seen that error pop up again yet, however only time will tell. I DID however have an instance (and I also see this all too frequently) where I was bouncing to MP3 (and I have it set to do conversion after the bounce) and it bounces ...

Pro Tools Rant
I like Pro Tools. really. it usually does what I need. However, tonight I spent about 3 hours trying to bounce 8 tracks for a 4 minute song. this should have only taken 30 minutes at most. I see this quite often: http://mkosacek.googlepages.com/stupidprotools.jpg Maybe I will put this in my signatur...

I'm on esession -- it may not be for everyone, but its actually a good way to work for some of us. www.esession.com/mikekosacek www.studiotraxx.com is another site that provides the same type of service. they are both great for individuals, or for bands looking for supplemental musicians (i.e., horn...
