Use the kick on the kick and the condenser out front of the kit. Just move it around (and the kit in the room) until you get good coverage of the kit. Or, use the condenser out front of the kit (again, move it around, but about 3 feet out and 3 feet up) and use the 57 as an overhead. Either of these...

Yeah, they did their first album on a 388. I still have that guitar riff from "Low" saved on my hard drive because it's so cool, from when you posted it before. I mean, I rarely listen to stuff that people post, aside from critiques...usually it's shit, haha. But Imma actually pull this one up for ...

Re: like!

Hey! Were vocal effects put on the computer or did you mix it all down to a stereo channel on your laptop? Either way, sounds great! Dirty, early black keys....who did a couple on a 388 I believe?!? We have a 388 at www.notools.co.uk in the UK! We love it! I'll post some bits up soon. Keep up the a...

Bought it! Great sounds all the way through, man. That guitar sound has me wanting one of those r144's. Did you do much eq work on the guitar after tracking? I did on some of the tracks. The r144 is nice, but in the future I don't know if I'll use it with the 388 again. It's very warm - almost too ...

My bad, I read your site wrong. You are raising money to release the record. Well, you should spend money on tacos, shoes, and toothpaste anyway. Still, I hope that you keep making records like this. Sounds like art. Haha, thank you! Oh man I'll forever make records like this, now that I've had a t...

To fit that much music onto the record it had to be cut at a really low level, and so there's a lot of surface noise. 33rpm 7"s are also the lowest-fi standard vinyl format...
So cut 7" records at 45?

dfuruta wrote:-the only record I've heard that I know was pressed there is a 33rpm 7" with 9 minutes or so of music per side. Not much anyone can do with that!

I've been selling full-length CDs for the last 3.5 years and the sales have REALLY dwindled to almost nothing in the last year. put out a 7" EP and have already sold more records in the last 2 weeks than I've sold CDs in the last year. and it's a vinyl-only release ... no downloads and not availabl...

Great idea! You'd sell a lot of the 7" records if it came with a download that included a lot more songs than the 7". That's actually a very smart way to sell a full-length record. Honestly, most people who buy vinyl don't even listen to it. There are plenty of exceptions. Mostly people on forums l...

Selling Cd's vs CRD's

Ya'll know the debate. It's old, it's worn, but give me your take. Should my band release cdr's (full retail packaging, etc) or replicated cds?

Tascam 388 project done

I should have posted this here...didn't even realize this was a forum until a member told me so! Just finished a 2 piece thang on the 388. Used 2 mics, mixed down to laptop using a reverb pedal. Minimal recording, minimal effects, minimal everything. What do ya'll think? www.thecrookedsaws.bandcamp....
