Advice on a super-long cable run

As a result of some reorginization, our plate reverb is getting moved to a room about 150 feet away from the control room, and I need to run wires to it in a few days. Is there anything I should be taking into account when running cables that far? I was just planning on getting some Mogami wire or s...

Well, both manuals still have the same problem (sound is nearly nonexistent), both with or without the vibrato on. Hey, here's a clue - The previous owner robbed the bass pedals from this one to fix up his main organ - So instead of having pedals, it has a nice piece of wood for your feet. I've neve...

Hunting for a schematic for a LinnDrum

So in my quest to finish my pile of broken projects, I've recently unearthed a broken linndrum.

Anyone have a schematic (or for that matter, a manual) for this silly thing?

It powers up, and most of the sounds work, but the kick is non-functional, which kind of limits it's fun-factor.

So I found a PDF of the schematic here... Anything in there look like a potential culprit?

Yep, the drawbars are pulled out, and they do affect the sound.

You know, I haven't even checked the tubes. But would a bad tube make it quieter? I figured a bad tube would just sound cruddy.

Hammond M3 repair chaos

Heyo- So I have this really bitchin' Hammond M3 that I got for free off of Craigslsit. It fires up alright and the motor spins fine, but the actual organ sound is incredibly low-volume (Like, barely audible). However, the percussion still bleeps away at full volume, so I know the amp is working. Aft...

Didn't I hear somewhere that they recorded some of the drums for Girls can Tell outdoors, like in a backyard?

Agreed - track 'em seperately, unless there's something really special about having them all going at once. That'll give you a lot more flexibillity in editing and mixing. I tracked a horn section all together the first time I tracked a ska band, and I never could get the horns to impact like they s...

I already tried lowering the speed settings from 1.2 to 1.0, and it did run nominally better, but still hung if you looked at it funny.

Well, that settles it then - To the phone!
No sense in not trying another chip at least.

I've worked on a few control 24's, and I like 'em a lot. Easy to work with, way cheaper than a pro control, and a totally good bang-for-your-buck. But it might be overkill for a home rig. Do they even work with LE? I've never looked into it; One place I've used had a Mix 24 setup, and the other one ...

Hmm. Well, I'm glad to hear there's some success out there. I wonder what's up? The chip I used was This one , and my machine is a 350 mhz AGP Graphics board. Anyone in the area (Seattle) wanna try this one out, to see if it's just my computer? It wouldn't surprise me to find something else is broke...

I bought a 1.2 ghz upgrade from OWC for my 350mhz G4 (AGP) a few months ago. Everything computer-wise ran decent, but Pro Tools would invariably lock up after 5 or 10 minutes. I reinstalled, reformatted, etc etc etc, but eventually gave up and went back to the old chip. Total waste of $300. I should...

Ween was totally my first rock show.
They played two nights in a row, 3 hours each, and didn't repeat a song. I mean, cripes, that's some substantial rockage.

...And they do a great cover of Purple Rain, too.

I'll throw in a second on the Ibanez AD-202. It's thick and beefy, and makes a great slapback on vocals, plus it's real easy to freak out with. They use the same chip as a Memory Man, if I remember right.

Well, there's always Barry Rudolph's Recall Sheet page. I'm sure there's some tracksheets in there somewhere.
