Not sure what you mean by "real" patchbay. I have one that is a DBX 48-point rack mount patchbay.

I agree with the response. Increase "minimal" to more mics. Try the Glyn johns method (lot's of details on this site). I happen to think it sounds great. Open and clear. No confliting EQ freqs. The production is great as well.
