thank you everyone so much for the input, I will charge a late fee if I do not hear from him again in a reasonable amount of time. This has also inspired me to contact the one person who I gave mixes away to without being paid in full, to see if he would be interested in working something out as wel...

My only hold up with charging a late fee, is beforehand we did not discuss the possibility of a late fee being charged. So as me trying to be a fair person, feels that charging a late fee in this case may not be the right thing to do, despite the fact the client is not doing the right thing. This on...

I still have the final mixes, I was considering the late fee. The problem is the client is a "friend of a friend" and we know a lot of people mutually. Though I am more concerned with getting paid than how much he likes me, as now I have found through many other people he has a history of being flak...

clients that take forever/don't pay you.
Just recently I am starting to deal with more issues in getting people to pay me. I currently have a client that owes me a rather small sum of money. We finished mixing well over a month ago. I have had very little contact with them since then. I call today, and the band "leader" proceeds to get rat...

the floor is cement, I have a drum rug though as it would be impossible to have a kit not slide around. I will try rotating the kit into the corner so both sides of the kit have walls next to them. The treatment in the room is directly above the kit, directly behind the kit to the wall on the right ...

What kind of close-mic'ing are you using? For ultimate "tightness" you will want spot mics. I am close micing all the other drums, as well as a room mic about 10 to 12 feet back. I have never done much spot micing of cymbals. I will try the high hat mic suggestions and see if I can get more of what...

close sounding dry drums!
I would enjoy some overall points in getting a very dry and close sounding kit. especially with the hats and ride. I normally use modded oktava mk012s into sca c84s in XY. Unlike most people I generally suffer from not enough hats, this generally works great for more hard rock stuff, but I am lookin...

No local band I've seen has any clue how to run a radio campaign OR book their own shows for profit. that is assuming bands are interested in being on the radio, I am not. I don't like bands on the radio, and I would like to like my own band. So I will pass on that Yes, if a band cant produce some ...
