back to wondering when I saw this little monster. http://www.alesis.com/mastercontrol It's a bit more than I need considering it also functions as an interface but it's cheaper than mackie or euphonix. I really dig the euphonix but it's a pricey little bugger. Anyone have experience with this...usin...

The Mackie has earned it's place as a defacto standard, in my experience. A friend of mine is a huge fan of the Euphonix fader device...last I checked it was Mac only. I think touch sensitive is worth the price of admission. The non-touch-sensitive faders hunt & seek a lot. It kinda destroys the pr...

I had the same problem with an Oktava-mod MK-219. Michael was a pleasure to work with and he solved it by replacing the FET. By same problem I mean that I was getting this wind sound in a vocal booth. There wasn't any wind but what I heard in the monitors and what ended up in my test recordings defi...

This was the best deal I could find for the Hakko so I went with it.
The deals aren't across the board so there has to be some comparative shopping with other suppliers for other supplies.

The Craftsmen looks good - #82337 @ 50.00. I've got a Sears down the road...hate paying for shipping and sitt'n around waiting. Seriously, the advice is wonderful as I have no idea what I'm getting myself into.

Awesome! Thanks for taking the time! Yes, I'm starting with pre-amp kits and then might as well keep going as long as I'm tooled up. Half the battle is getting the right tools. I know enough not to start with the wrong tools...it only wastes money and makes the journey unpleasant. Thanks again for t...
