Anybody tried modding the channels on these? I've asked before here and elsewhere and heard crickets chirping.... *chirp* i kind of looked at it, when i was planning on fixing my broken channel card. replacing some of the electrolytics might help. there's not much as far as op amps. the op amp cont...

Re: Help me with some Tascam 388 intermediate questions
1) if you get an xlr-trs cable you can go through the line ins, or like shedshrine said, you can go through the pgm ins to completely bypass the mixer section.
2) not bloody likely.
3) what shedshrine said.

when mixing down, you wanna flip all the switches at the top of the channel to RMX. then engage all the red R-L buttons. now when you playback everything goes through the faders and is routed to the main stereo outs.

Re: Tascam 388's monitor section seems quiet
I just bought a Tascam 388 and everything is wonderful with the unit. I'm having some difficulty with the monitor section though. It seems really quiet. I'm used to cassette portastudios and DAW's monitor sections being really loud. Is it just me? Are my ears damaged? Maybe I'm doing something wron...

finding something to house the 388 can be tough. for awhile i used one of those folding office tables, but over time the 388 bowed it. just got an old junky desk now. doesn't look pretty, but it's built well, so no more sagging. this looks like it would do the job though. http://www.zzounds.com/item...

If I understand it right, the only other options the 10 has over the 4 are more mono pres... Not that that's insignificant, but more to the point, the 4 has the same bells and whistles as the 10, just fewer channels, or so I have read... inverseroom, I've yet to buy it, because I hit a rough, icy, ...

Re: Dump tracks to Pro Tools
I picked up a 388 a couple weeks ago off of craigslist, and I tracked some drums on it this past weekend. Instead of bouncing those tracks down, I want to dump them into Pro Tools and do all my overdubs there. I remember coming across a post somewhere mentioning a good way to do that, but I can't f...
