I had 2 incredible Kramers. Got them cheap and sold for too cheap. Had a Floyd Rose Signature model with original case. Mint cond. And a prototype Canadian made custom shop model. The guy from Uriah Heep had one like it, but mine had the "Eddie" headstock. Got both for under $300 each. If it was map...

I've got a Sansa Clip +. Plays FLAC. Has FM radio and voice recorder built in. Micro SD card slot. http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Sansa-Clip-Player-Black/dp/B002MAPS6W The headphone output is not as "powerful" as any of the Apple things. Found out running it into external speakers (in loud vehicle). ...

Now to tie this back in to the OP.... I bet there are combinations of cheaper DAW and interface that "lock together". Most probably something ASIO as the link above showed way back in 2000. I'm betting it's going to be something by RME, Lynx with Cubase. SSL also has a unit in that price range. But ...

I remember something about not running surge strips into conditioners. Would have to dig it up. Get non-surge power strips, then run into the single conditioner. They are out there to buy. Have to look a bit for good ones. Home depot has stuff like this: 6 Outlet Contractor Power Block-L-815 - http:...

Yes. I for one am glad they do this, it keeps me focussed on working, and not on figuring out what is wrong half the time... It should be spelled out in their "marketing" lit. I mean, that "feature" makes the price of the hardware "worth it". Maybe they take it for granted? I mean, this stuff affec...

And that's with their hardware and matched drivers right? That would make sense. Now, you could get the same performance with "any" DAW if the DAW, driver and audio interface talk to each other correctly. This requirement knocks quite a few manufacturers out of the box. Dirty secrets of the computer...

A&H only makes mixers...and they had to hit a price point. So they went Dice II from TC. No problem if you never go down to 128 or 64 buffer. Lynx costs quite a bit more. They make a performance car that can do 180 mph. It's all built in house, not subcontracted. Subaru WRX vs. Ferrari. Not just nit...

It's all in the drivers. Zed uses Dice II FW chipset I believe. Those are not very good. High latency. It's not that they don't work...just that other hardware will work better. You seriously notice the performance drop as you decrease buffer setting. See charts here: http://dawbench.com/audio-int-l...

I got a Mackie 32*8 with a wierd trade. Was used to Mackies over the years. Plugged in...sounded like Mackie.. Then a week later I got a chance to trade it straight up for a 1988 Yamaha RM2408 console. All I did was test the Yamaha with a mic to make sure the channels worked. Took the leap just for ...

PCI is on it's way out. But you can search on Newegg.com for motherboards that have at least 2 PCI slots. Another problem...make sure those slots are "native" PCI.
