Get a patchbay. Run all of your device outputs (Duet, Mixer, synths, FXS, etc) into the top row. Run all of your device inputs (Duet, Mixer, Adcom FXS, etc) into the bottom row. Normal or half-normal your Duet outputs to your mixer inputs. Normal your mixer outputs (the ones you monitor with) to the...

I love the Bridge Over Troubled Water album, great songs and great recordings. Only Living Boy in NY is one of my all time favs.

I would really try to get to the bottom of what is hampering his creativity; it may have nothing to do with his setup. I was at my most creative 15-20 years ago when all I had was a Yamaha 4 track and an SM58, but I wouldn't go back to that setup unless I went broke and that's all I could afford. Pe...

The only issue I have with the quote is that I think most rock music recordings have sounded like shit since the late 70s/early 80s.

Yep, I do this from time to time when I know I'm not going to have an opportunity to capture the worlds greatest amp tone. Things usually line up pretty well, I can't remember ever having to slide tracks around, but if you feel you need to, try this: Get your guitar setup again via the DI and amp. D...

This is bullshit and you should be ashamed. If you're proud of that then fine but if you're going to post it on a public message board then put in some damn effort. You can't even come up with a new reply. All you can do is quote yourself from before. That may be a bit harsh, maybe the poor quality...

Do you have to be high, or a certain age to get it, because I'm not getting it. What exactly am I looking at in the video, and why would/should I interested in it? You seem to fancy yourself somewhat the showman Frank Entari, but what are you selling us here? Because neither the "steak" or the "sizz...

I'm a cheap bastard, so my uber-cheap rack solution is milk crates. You can "find" them behind strip malls and grocery stores. They are 19' wide, and I use sheet rock screws and screw them right into the plastic. If I'm using them for heavy equipment, I reinforce them with wood.

$15 seems like a lot of money to me. I'd pay $15 if the Beatles released a new album of material, but not for an unknown artist. I guess what you might take into consideration is this: How many $15 CDs do you think you will sell versus how many you would sell if you charged $5? If the answer is the ...

Find out if it's a 3 head machine that would allow you to use it as a tape echo.
Nothing quite like a tape echo for certain sounds.

But since I've learned more about recording, I have become convinced I achieve a better tone on all guitars and basses with a parralel DI signal. I disagree with this statement, but whatever works. Acoustic guitar recorded through a pickup sounds like ass, even in parallel. Go listen to great acous...

Love it!

Great tone, great playing, great singing.

Did you really bust out this recording in a few hours time?

Can you talk about the guitar, amp and recording chain?

Well, you really haven't picked 3 of their strongest albums there (though Echoes off of Meddle may be my favorite Pink Floyd song).

If you want to hear the greatness of Pink Floyd, listen to:

The Wall
Dark Side of the Moon
Wish You Were Here
Animals
The Final Cut

Excellent work! I've always liked this song and I like your interpretation a lot.

Never knew the song was written by Steve Porcaro of Toto.
