I checked out a Parasound today. Looks pretty good and the price is right. I noticed Bryston makes a nice looking hi-fi preamp, too, but it's outside my price range.dsw wrote:Another brand that is nice stuff and not too expensive is Parasound.

Hi Fi People: Preamp
My old HK receiver needs to be replaced (it never was that great to begin with) and I'm going to go with separates. I need to get a preamp with a couple/three line level inputs and a MM phono pre. Simple is good, and I'd prefer to do EQ in a separate box, if at all. A remote control for volume would...

Specifically, it's a Wurlitzer 200. This instrument, if you didn't know, has a reed and tine mechanism for generating sound. the reed part is a metal plate with a 140-170v fixed DC charge applied to it. Measuring Voltage on a high impedance load
Hello,
I'm trying to measure a DC voltage at a very high load (somewhere around 15Meg). At this level, do I need to be cautious about my DMM's impedance, lest the reading become inaccurate?
Thanks

generally, the lifecycle of a head is either: 1. It progressively stretches out til further tightening can;'t get it in tune or resonating correctly 2. It gets dented up to the point where it can't be tuned I guess in terms of etiquette, I'd mainly worry about the heads. If you have a agreement to u...
