I forgot to say I replaced the resistors that feed the bias voltage to the grids thinking that they might have drifted. the thing is, at idle it's fine. it's only when you send a signal through it that the bias point shifts and they start to cherrybomb.

I have had my friends busted Ampeg V4 for what seems like forever. He got it and a plate resistor in the power section had a meltdown...he took it back to the store and the guy replaced it and fired it up and it worked but he didn't notice that it lacked volume and the two inner power tubes glow red...

i understood what they meant but i know being around water based textile screen printing ink sometimes i forget that the other stuff is toxic...don't want anyone getting any brain damage is all...post pictures once you're done...i'd like to see i think toothpaste is pointing out that you're ignoring...

housepig brings up a good point about the noise CDr's...tons tons tons...lately for my stencils, i've been using this thin plastic stuff used to make patterns for a quilt...11x17 sheet is like 2$ at the craft store and it makes me never want to cut through cardboard again...i'd also like to say that...

well, i always carry a bag around with me so it's not like something would have to fit in my pocket. it's a big bag too. i could walk around with a computer printer or combo amp in it if i wanted to. on the same token, i could walk around with a portable dat recorder if i needed, i was just looking ...

I have a few. Tyranny of Shaw 3" demo, Enkephalin tour CD, etc...I think the biggest worry is getting and even coat as to not make one side heavier. Don't want it wobbling around. Are you sure they are in the powersuppply section? Those seem a bit small but some of the older amps had small ones. I would swap the tubes around also. Check the power supply voltages, higher voltages will give you higher gain. i'd depend on the voltages running through the amp...with higher volta...
