I've used the $200 Rogue Violin bass(AMAZING bass for WAY CHEAP), with flatwounds, DI and an SDC pointing in the bridge area. The mic gave it a nice woody flavor, and I think if played right it could pass for an upright. The imitation probably wouldn't hold up if the part was really exposed, though....

Man, I LOVE that trashy cymbal on Can't Find My Way Home! It's so harsh and so blatantly too high in the mix I just gotta laugh at it. It sounds especially nasty on vinyl. Oooo, and the last crash in the song, where it sounds like Ginger drops a bead necklace or some rivets or something on the cymba...
