If you have access to Logic the Multimeter plugin has an oscilloscope option.

Brilliant. I tuned in for a couple of minutes and the A&R idiot is saying in reference to whether a question about rough mixes "I'll just record what's coming through the speakers with my ipod microphone". The engineer is trying to explain that he'll still have to do a separate mix for each singer a...

I just had a quick look on a forum and it seems like you can't, but I don't have much experience with Cubase I'm afraid. If you are on PC there is bound to be a free app someone has made that can do this, mac might be harder. I think Melodyne can do it if you have access to that.

On Ethan's site he gives some tips for a corner with a door like that. Since you can't put a panel there at a 45 degree angle you can put a panel on the back of the door and another one on the wall next to it. I've got a couple corners in my studio that had to be treated that way. Works fine. Yeah,...

This is what you said!
Yes, the new mix position is better. Once you get absorption at the reflection points that should fix your imaging.

http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/7940/roomjm8.jpg Here is a quick room plan I have just drawn up. I'm well aware (and very sorry) for the terrible lack of any sense of scale (hey, didn't you know that 87 inches is more than 115?) but with only MS paint and no degree in technical drawing it was th...

Where to start with an asymmetrical room?

Hi, I know I really need to provide more info, but I thought I'd get the ball rolling before I go out for the evening. Basically, I'm rearranging/treating my mixing room, which is also my bedroom. I've decided to treat it as a mixing room 1st and a bedroom 2nd, basically a control room with a bed in...

Rockwool cuttings?

Hi, a local studio has offered to donate me a load of Rockwool cuttings left over from the gobos they've just made. I am considering making some bass traps and a bit of ceiling absorbation with the cuttings, and I was wondering if there is any major disadvantage in using them, tightly packed, instea...
