it's around 10ms or so... yea what you want to do should be no problem. the only problem i was having was that I was using it with another interface that had a different latency so the tracks recorded in the onboard spdif didn't line up with the tracks recorded on my firewire interface (echo audiofi...

The golden ratio is just a number. Like pi, it's defined for a specific geometric property in mathematics. It pops up in many forms of geometry especially when pentagonal symmetry is involved. Anyway if you really want to check this out wikki it or check mathworld at wolfram: http://mathworld.wolfra...

But in regards to the topic, I like: Of course the obvious FMR RNCs and Oktava MK012's.. I have a Blue Bluebird that's quite nice on some people's voices. The Groove Tubes GT57 has come in handy when I needed a decent multipattern mic even if it is a little "dark" sounding (again sounds good on some...

Here's some stuff to fit the mid end budget that I like: ... GIK Acoustics bass traps - about $140 including shipping per pair of 2' x 4' x 4" panels - just hung up 14 of these in my room and they really do work well. Sure - you can DIY it - but at this price the money is well worth the hassle save...

[quote="soundguy"]uh, is there a reason why everyone on this thread has assumed the problem is some sort of technique failure or whatever? Maybe the guy just likes his snare to sound that way... There is certainly nothing wrong with a choked sounding snare unless it sounds bad. The original post did...

I think we're talking about something else...
I think you're talking about plastic or nylon washers... which i agree are cool.
And the original post is about those plastic "lug lock things" that have a flat end and slip over the square part of the tension rod to keep it from moving while you play...

Powermac's Optical inputs
Anyone with a newer powermac try using these optical inputs with an external AD converter for an extra 2 inputs using aggregate devices?
It works FYI just wondering if it's a bad idea?

Yea that could have alot to do with it. I think those plastic doodads are really only good for people who tend to do alot of rimshots and by the end of the night notice all their tension rods on the floor... Other than that, the drum will go out of tune anyway due to playing, stretching, humidity, l...

Actually Digital Ash Digital Urn was one album I wish he would have left the electronics to someone else... I don't think he did such a hot job in whatever software sequencer using whatever plugin synths and samplers he used. However the engineering and production on I'm Wide Awake It's Morning is a...
