I'm really liking a NOS Sylvania JAN 12AT7 in the EH12ay7 as well. I bought some 12au7 tubes, but there's just something more pleasing about the 12at7 than any of the 12au7s. I did find the differences in 12au7s very subtle, but the 12at7 was a very distinct difference. More articulate I think.

Sorry, the power light went out with the KSM 32. It stayed on with the MC-012. There was one GE 12AU7 tube was really outstanding with the KSM 32 recording my mandolin. It was a real ear opener. I just got my EH12ay7 last night and tried it out with a few mics. With a MC-012 the power light stayed on and I had plenty of gain. I've never heard this mic sound so good.
