calling all Leslie experts!
so, some time ago I recovered the Leslie unit from a destroyed Hammond organ. I built a cool little cabinet for it. it's pretty small and the rotating speaker mechanism fits tightly(enough room for spinning though...) inside. anyway, I recently saw the Fender manufactured Leslie cab(has the same gut...

Re: Where are all the ladies?
yeah...I've thought about it a lot. I don't know what's up, considering that, while still under represented, there seem to be more women active in all other art forms: music(performance anyway), film, dance, visual art, etc. shit. it was a girl(my first band's drummer) who introduced me to the casse...

Re: MUSICIANS FRIEND WEEKLY CONTEST?
my cousin won one of those contests a year ago. he got a gibson les paul(cool I guess), but it had been autographed by members of Stained or something(lame). I think he spent a hundred just to get the sharpie cleaned off properly. jeez.

Re: potential DIY octavator...but how?
...cool input y'all. but how would I "weaken" the output enough to simply run it in line with guitar pedals and into the amp?

potential DIY octavator...but how?
so I found this toy at the thrift store today. they were selling all this closeout halloween stuff. It's this little speaker box thingy that clips on your belt with a mic(on a cord) that clips into your mask. flick a switch and you got sub-sonic evil demon voice. flick it the other way and you got h...

question for Blues Jr. users...
so, I have one of these amps in storage back west, and I'm thinking of shipping it out here(brooklyn). although I've used it for recording, I've never played live with it. my question is: will I have enough power to play over drums and bass? We're loud rock, but not like, cranked marshall loud...you...

are you *playing* jazz? guitar or bass?
I don't know if it's the speaker...you may just need another amp.

Re: Gear That's Made A Marked Difference
HOMEMADE ISO-CAB!!! serious. building one of these was one of the best(and least expensive) decisions I've ever made. Celestion12"-$20 used. plywood and foam rubber-found in dumpster mic goose neck/misc. hardware-$6 radioshack the sound of a real mic on a cranked speaker, at 12:30 at night in my apa...

I'm a little late with this follow-up, but...
regarding the C*NT HAIR issue:
we've always said is as, "...just a wee c*nt hair..." in a heavy scotish accent a' la groundskeeper willy(the simpsons). sounds more like, "que-nt", therefore not as shocking to the ears.

Re: SIMPLE tube amp scematics...?
Bassmans are cool. but I'm hoping to build, like an oversized musicmaster bass amp or Magnatone 415, etc. super simple. one input/channel, volume and tone...only. oh, and any tube compliment other than 6L6. preferably el34. can I just build the power section of a plexi and than build a stripped down...
