Re: Pluggo Plugs

Funny, just today I was messing around with this myself. What I eventually did was just add a "z-" to the begining of the head pluggo plugin in the dae plug in folder, and that moved all the pluggo plugins to the end of the list, out of the way of the others.

Re: 250 or so to spend...what should i get?

I would get a couple Octava 012 mics to use as a stereo pair, and they make good cabinet mics. I've had a pair for years, and they gets used all the time.

Re: 414 'bubbling' - what causes this?

I'm just thinking about this, if it from light (spot light, sunlight), it might be ok because it is a matter of the paint getting too hot, and that wouldn't always conduct through to the guts. the fact that there seems to be parts that aren't damaged might be a good thing. but if it was a flamethrow...

Re: 414 'bubbling' - what causes this?

That alomst looks like heat damage. Is there any bubbles actually on the white print? If not I would guess it was left in bright lights too long.

you rat bastard.

for some reason I have been calling people rat bastards today. BTW I like the Johnny Depp movie, I think he's one of the few actors who could pull it off.

Re: What's the best digital camera under $200?

My aunt was just in town, and she bought a HP 4.1 Megapixel with 3X optic zoom for 179 Canadian bucks. her limit was 200, and i thought that was her best option. She bought it at Staples. I would try places like office depot, walmart, and that kind of crap because all the 4 Mega pixels are just out ...

Re: My new band "The Paper Sound"...

boy, you compressed those cymbals so much they sound backwards sometimes. I like the sound of compressed drums, but this is at time confusing. I like the mix, it has a Trial of the Dead feel to it. That said, maybe there is too much low end in the vocals? I don't know. The vocals need something. dis...

I like it. good song writing. I didn't notice anything production wise that took from the music.

I really like the vocal sound.

Re: I just want to know who get's paid to do this shit.

What gets me is the 'treat the symptoms' strategy of these folks. "the real problem is that we all these people are knocking our product. We COULD just improve our product, but lets try to stop them from talking first" I'm reminded of the southpark with the Catholic priests "the problem is that youn...

Re: String Gauge

a couple of ways strings affect tone: Smaller strings sound slightly sharp when you pick them, then slide into tune. When you play them harder and harder, after a certain point them don't get much louder, just bouncier. Heavy strings carry more tone, they vibrate the guitar more, you can play them h...

I'll trade you. I don't use it, but 'virtual PC' is said to downgrade your mac to PC abilities.

I am assuming only mac readers will read this thread.

Re: tube amp warming

Nice stereo tube amps are quite costly, aren't they? It would be nice to have one, but I would imagine you would loose a lot of sound soaking the power out of the other end. I don't know I these amps have transformers on the outputs, but tube guitar amps are current amplifiers rather than Voltage, s...

Re: Sounds of the 90s

I think MBV Loveless really stands out. For years, people have been reaching for that, it is a benchmark, compared to so often in reviews and bios. People still use too much compression,<snip> heralding loveless and condemning over compression in the same thought strikes me as some how funny. will ...

Re: Sounds of the 90s

It is interesting to think about our generation---I say 'our' refering to the people who remember the 80's, but were adolescent in the 90's. I used to skateboard and get treated like crap for it, then make the best sounding recording possible with a set of headphones, a mic and a 4 track, that was o...
