Re: Thoughts on 'Social Security Reform'
Mr PC, I have been thinking about what you were saying. I fear that you are being a mite bit idealistic. Even the dudes from Enron, perhaps the worst embezzlers in recent history (in that they got caught) never went to jail. Martha Stewart is a self made entrepreneur, nowhere near the money that we ...

Re: Thoughts on 'Social Security Reform'
It seems once the private sector gets involved, things start costing more money, and nobody is accountable. as much as taxes are higher than they should be, there is no limit to what these bastards will take from you. we had a premere here in Ontario that messed up our healthcare system, education, ...

just a though, if this is a studio amp, why not one of each? this might get you the most options for recording sounds.

Re: Guitar Amp Speaker Wattage Question.
I'm not sure 20 and 30 watts would have much difference. I would go with the 20 watt ones, they might sound a little juicier, a bit more bite, less sterile, etc. I am not an expert though.
edit : after re-reading your post, it sounds like you want the higher wattage speakers.

Re: Portable recording.
I am projecting my own dreams with that Traveller idea, but if you already have a laptop, something in that direction might be doable. I used to carry a c1000s in my computer bag (because it has a battery, no 48V needed) to throw down ideas. Even if you don't have a laptop, you could perhaps get one...

Why don't you get a powerbook and one of those MOTU Travellers? That would work.

Re: for anyone who has non-music jobs
I have worked at an Engineering firm for a few years, then took a few months off to do music. It turns out I do about the same with music as i did before, so I am thinking about going back to work for another couple years. The way it works for me is that I like that anticipation of powering on the g...

Re: How many people use external Hard Drives...
One of the reasons I went with an external was to make it easier to move between computers. has anybody had any success going between pc and mac? I have a maxtor, i can't find a format os9 and xp agree on.

Re: Microphones on Airplanes
My question would be what is the air pressure between the diaphragms in a condenser mic, and are there any holes to release the pressure. Maybe a smart mic guy can answer that. It?s an interesting question. I was reading something this summer that said that yes, there are holes for just this reason...

Re: Microphones used on Zeppelin songs
I remeber hearing about a pignose amp and a microphone in a shoebox for something, I was quite young when I head that. Anyhow, since we are talking about Led Zeppelin production, I am curious what the popular opinion is of that pre-delay on the vocals of 'whole lot of love' in the middle: "Way down ...

Re: Pluggo Plugs
I'm using Protools 5.2.1, I don't know if it is something they changed with later versions? What I would like with all those pluggos is to be able to sort them into sub folders, you know? but anyhow, in the plugin pulldown menu, they come up in alphabetical order of the file names, not the plug in n...

Re: help me figure this out!!!!!!
I wish I could help more. I am assuming these are balanced I/O, which the 001 supports. I would guess the thing to do is check for continuity between the ground and the pins. If one of them shorts, that's the sleeve, the other is the pin, and I wouldn't ground the sheild at both ends. ok, that's ano...
