Non-ProTools Elastic Audio

I don't have access to PTs at the moment, but I need to Elastic Audio some loops... What else out there is equally as good, or better? They're not just drum loops. I need to loop acoustic guitar, vocals, etc...

The interface of PTs 8, which just came out, has been reworked to look a lot like other popular DAWs, too, which should make things even easier, since the interface of PTs I always felt was pretty novel, and not always in a good way...

My friend wants to run 7.1 LE on Vista, but with an original Mbox, not an mbox2... Unfortunately, he's getting errors on install saying he needs XP... Is this because he's using an older Mbox, or because he's using 7.1? (as opposed to 7.3, etc.)... This is turning out to be a real hair puller-outer...
