Usually I track vocals with playlists, then give each playlist it's own track when I start editing, so I can see every take. But I get lazy, and it's a pain having to use the mouse to mute and unmute tracks to compare takes. Almost everything else can be done with a keystroke somewhere, so what I'm ...

I know you can do it in Logic... Any ideas?

Totally obscure question about an SSL 4000
Heyo, So I'm trying to move the floppy drive from our SSL 4000 from the power supply racks into the control room, about 10 feet away. I called SSL, and the interface is a 50-pin SASI connection - the precursor to SCSI-1 - but they didn't know how far the cable would go. I looked up the specs for SCS...

As is the rest of the line, too... They sound nice once you figure out the controls though.

Yeah, that's the older version. There's only two types, airport and airport extreme. If it fit in a cube, it's guaranteed to be the older one.

Re: Re-tubing U47?
Thanks for the advice. I had a feeling it was going to be in the $1000 range... yuck. I gather that anything involving some intensive surgery is going to be a no-go. Oh well - it's the studio's, so OPM, right? =) One more question on this infernal money-sinkhole... the rubber-band shockmount for the...

Re-tubing U47?
So apparently our U47 needs to be re-tubed.
Any ideas on where to get said tube? I believe this one is still set up for a VF14.
